Requirements

  • Degree or experience in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Previous extensive experience with APQP and PPAP both delivering and managing the process
  • Proven track record in an automotive and manufacturing environment
  • OEM/Tier 1/Tier 2 experience
  • Experience of and ability to influence suppliers to deliver on quality standards and objectives
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings, CAD data and Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing
  • Proven involvement and use of FMEA, Control Plans, Statistical Process Control and Measurement Systems Analysis
  • Knowledge of IS9001 standard management systems
  • Trained Lead or Internal Auditor
  • Excellent problem-solving skills using core tools; 8D, DMAIC…
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with purpose at all levels of the business
  • Be a leader in your field of responsibility to ensure support for your objectives

Responsibilities

  • Leading quality involvement in design reviews and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) development
  • Developing PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control plans for suppliers
  • Establishing and implementing an APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process integrated into the Alexander Dennis management system
  • Developing and implementing a Supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) tracking system
  • Managing supplier KPIs to ensure activities are on plan, including PPAP and change control
  • Analysing and summarising supplier PPAP submissions, including capability data and measurement systems analysis
  • Chairing regular review meetings with suppliers
  • Reporting department status to wider project teams during periodic gateways
  • Identifying and creating supplier development opportunities in collaboration with Group SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance)
  • Providing support for 8D (Eight Disciplines) activities for lessons learned and input on generic FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Leading and supporting improvement projects for quality across the business
  • Supporting management review meetings where APQP status is shared and actioned
  • Conducting sample inspections of parts when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • IATF 16949 management system experience and auditing
  • Lean Six Sigma Trained (Green Belt)
  • Working knowledge of OEM vehicle manufacturing processes
  • Supply chain relationship building, agreements and developments
