We are seeking a skilled AI Solutions Architect to design and deliver innovative AI/ML solutions for federal partners. Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to uncover challenges, shape technical strategies, and implement scalable, secure AI systems. This highly visible role involves defining Oddball’s AI technical vision, supporting growth and sales, and guiding small teams through agile development. You will define Oddball’s AI technical vision, support growth and sales efforts, and guide small teams through agile experimentation and delivery cycles. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience in machine learning and software development and communicates effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development, data science, or applied machine learning
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify problem areas, and design AI-powered solutions that align with user needs and agency missions
- Strong knowledge of LLM architectures (e.g., BERT, RAG, GPT) and ability to explain them to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with cloud-native AI stacks on AWS, Azure, or GCP and comfort designing scalable, secure ML workflows
- Hands-on experience with tools like Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar ML frameworks
- Practical understanding of vector search, embeddings, knowledge graphs, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to rapidly iterate and ship prototypes
- Ability to lead and mentor a small team of engineers to deliver quick-turn solutions and PoCs
- Clear, confident communication and presentation skills — including live solution demos with federal stakeholders
- Experience working across product, design, and business teams to shape AI-powered features and services
- Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically
- Must be able to attain low-level security clearance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field

- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to uncover challenges, shape technical strategies, and implement scalable, secure AI systems
- Define Oddball’s AI technical vision
- Support growth and sales efforts
- Guide small teams through agile experimentation and delivery cycles
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent experience is a plus
- Understanding of responsible AI principles, including fairness, explainability, and secure handling of PII/PHI
- Experience with AWS services like Bedrock, Comprehend, Lex, or Azure equivalents
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in federal health, veterans’ services, or modernization initiatives
- Past involvement in business development, innovation labs, or early-stage solution architecture
