Requirements

  • Have experience with ML or alignment research
  • Care about AI alignment and be optimistic about humanity's capacity to solve problems and safely navigate accelerating AI capabilities
  • Have proven data science experience (primary or equal contributor, multiple smaller projects, management of stakeholders)
  • Have lots of experience with Python
  • Have experience calling AI modelsโ€™ APIs via REST or client libraries
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently/autonomously
  • Have a track record of breaking down complex problems into manageable chunks for individual or team execution
  • Be available full-time
  • Be able to communicate effectively and work exclusively in English and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience

Responsibilities

  • Work on client projects involving custom software and machine learning solutions
  • Contribute to important alignment research
  • Use AI and automate tasks
  • Work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
  • Manage stakeholders
  • Build, train, and work with deep learning-based computer vision or NLP models or LLMs
  • Use Python extensively
  • Call AI modelsโ€™ APIs via REST or client libraries
  • Learn new things and solve difficult problems
  • Work independently/autonomously
  • Break down complex problems into manageable chunks for individual or team execution
  • Communicate effectively in English and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with self-managed data science projects
  • Have experience with software engineering best practices/software development background
  • Have Agile experience (worked with Kanban, Scrum, Extreme Programming)
  • Have JavaScript/Node.js experience
  • Have experience managing clients and client relationships
  • Have experience in startups
  • Be located in LA to work in person from our office
