Requirements

  • Experience with ML or alignment research
  • Passion for AI alignment and optimism about humanity's capacity to solve problems
  • Proven data science experience (primary or equal contributor on multiple projects)
  • Experience with deep learning-based computer vision or NLP models or LLMs
  • Extensive experience with Python
  • Experience calling AI models’ APIs via REST or client libraries
  • Growth mindset and excitement about learning and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently/autonomously
  • Track record of breaking down complex problems
  • Full-time availability
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to client projects
  • Work on important alignment research
  • Use AI and automate tasks
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage stakeholders
  • Build and train deep learning models (computer vision, NLP, LLMs)
  • Use Python extensively
  • Call AI model APIs via REST or client libraries
  • Work independently and autonomously
  • Break down complex problems into manageable tasks
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with self-managed data science projects
  • Experience with software engineering best practices
  • Agile experience (Kanban, Scrum, Extreme Programming)
  • JavaScript / Node.js experience
  • Experience managing clients and client relationships
  • Experience in startups
  • Location in LA to work in person
