AMC10 Teaching Assistant

Summary

Join Think Academy's Middle School Math Competition team as a part-time, remote teaching assistant! Assist AMC10 students in class and after class, guiding them to reach their academic potential and develop strong problem-solving skills. Maintain an orderly classroom environment, answer student questions, communicate with parents, and remind students to submit homework. Provide constructive feedback on assignments and performances, help manage the WeCom parent group, create video explanations for homework problems, and edit learning materials. Weekend availability is required. The position offers a flexible remote work schedule with competitive hourly pay and a performance bonus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
• Fluent in both English and Chinese to communicate with team members and parents
• Passionate about education, willing to help students achieve their potential
• Responsible and responsive to facilitate remote work
• Weekend availability is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students

Responsibilities

• Keep the class proceeding in an orderly fashion, answering any questions students might have, communicating to parents about any absences, and generally making the environment conducive to students' study
• Remind students to submit homework, grade homework, guide students to office hours, and help answer questions students or parents might have
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and performances to promote continuous improvement
• Help to maintain our WeCom parent group throughout the semester
• Recording video explanations for homework problems
• Editing textbooks and other learning materials

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degrees such as Master's, or experience in AMC10 competition are highly preferred

• Teaching Fee: $25/hour
• Non-Teaching Fee: $16-20/hour; Includes class preparation and after-class services such as grading homework, replying to parent messages, periodically giving feedback, etc
• Commission: 15% Target Performance Bonus
