Join Synthesia, a fast-growing AI video communications platform company, as a Data Engineer and own the analytics layer of our product data stack. You will ensure that our DBT models, metrics, and transformation logic meet the evolving needs of product teams. Collaborate closely with product teams to build core datasets and work with Product Analysts to create data models and pipelines that drive insightful decisions. Your main goal is to ensure data is easily accessible, trustworthy, and allows for quick analysis. You will work across the stack, bringing data into Snowflake, writing transformations in DBT, and acting as a data expert for the organization. Requirements
- You've got 4+ years of experience working in analytics/data engineering, with a strong focus on enabling data use in product organizations
- You've got hands on experience with DBT, building and maintaining modular, scalable data models that follow best practices
- Youβve got advanced SQL knowledge, with experience writing efficient and well structured queries
- You know how to translate business requirements from non-technical data users, and downstream analytical teams into data pipelines
- You have a product mindset, worked closely with product teams and understand what insights can inflect a product trajectory
- You have the communication skills to work across an organisation to gather requirements, build consensus and evangelize the use of data
- You have a track record of being outcome-driven and can clearly articulate how your work created measurable impact
Responsibilities
- Own the analytics layer of our product data stack, ensuring our DBT models, metrics, and transformation logic reflect the evolving needs of product teams
- Work closely with our product teams to coordinate, support and execute on building core datasets
- Create data models and pipelines that unlock insights and enable smarter decisions about our product features
- Ensure our data is easy to navigate and trustworthy, allowing end-users to retrieve and analyse data quickly
- Work across the stack, to bring the right data into Snowflake, writing transformation into DBT and acting as an expert to the rest of the organisation to solve problems with data, or guide others to do so
