Summary
Join the Democratic National Committee’s Tech Team as an Analytics Engineer! You will clean, repackage, and build data pipelines to support Democratic campaigns and progressive causes nationwide. Reporting to the Analytics Engineering Lead, you will collaborate with a Product Manager and data team colleagues. This role involves managing and improving data quality for use by volunteers and organizers across the country. You will build ETL infrastructure, integrate new data sources, and create analytics products for decision-makers. The work is high-impact and mission-centered, offering a chance to make a real difference in elections.
Requirements
- Write clean, well-organized SQL and know how to structure reusable data pipelines
- Have worked with large, complex datasets—especially those that weren’t tidy to begin with
- Enjoy building things with others, not just for them, and believe the best products come from thoughtful partnerships
- Have used tools like dbt or Airflow to build and maintain production workflows
- Be pragmatic and adaptable, able to make progress even when the underlying data is imperfect
- Be comfortable with the Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and GCS
- Explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-technical collaborators
- Have worked in fast-paced environments where priorities shift quickly
- Be able to spot a gap, not be afraid to propose a solution, and enjoy rolling up your sleeves
Responsibilities
- Clean, repackage, and build data pipelines
- Design and maintain core data products
- Build ETL infrastructure to make complex multi-sourced data accessible, accurate, and actionable
- Integrate new Census data for the data science team
- Build innovative voter contact data models for campaigns
- Build insightful analytics products for decision-makers
- Leverage data contracts, SLAs, and automated tests to ensure reliability at scale
Preferred Qualifications
- Have 1-2 years of experience
- Have spent time on a campaign or have worked with political data before
