Android Engineer

Summary

Join Midnite, a next-generation betting platform, as an Android Developer. You will build and maintain key features of our Android app, ensuring smooth performance and high quality. Collaborate with a team to design and launch new features, identify and resolve performance issues, and contribute to rigorous testing. This role requires 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and experience with asynchronous programming. Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient with Kotlin
• Extensive experience with Jetpack Compose (our app is fully built-in Compose)
• Experience with asynchronous programming and thread safety, utilising Kotlin Coroutines and Flows
• Familiarity with REST/working with APIs
• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (we use Koin)
• Experience writing unit tests
• Good understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features for our Android app
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organisation, and testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for design and a focus on user experience and quality
• Experience with different architectures (we use MVVM)
• Experience with websocket messaging
• Familiarity with continuous integration and unit testing
• Interest in modular architecture
• Experience with performance optimisation
