Summary

Join ACT DIGITAL BENELUX as a freelancer to provide application installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and support in production and non-production environments. You will perform application maintenance, write procedure manuals, automate administrative procedures, contribute to the technical knowledgebase, and report on application performance. This remote position requires a minimum of 6 years of IT experience, including 5 years in application administration, 2 years with micro-services and container orchestration, and 2 years administering Elasticsearch. Experience with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions is also mandatory. The successful candidate must obtain EU security clearance within 15 weeks of starting.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support and maintenance of applications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft server or Linux server solutions
  • Good knowledge of the deployment and administration of Elasticsearch clusters
  • Good knowledge of micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher
  • Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey )
  • Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting
  • Good knowledge of ITIL , including the incident, change and release management processes

Responsibilities

  • Application installation, configuration and administration in production and non-production environments
  • Application monitoring, performance tuning and continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service
  • Applications support and maintenance activities such as incident, change, release and problem resolution
  • Writing and validating application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans
  • Automating administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required
  • Contributing to the structuring, maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Operations activities
  • Reporting on application availability, performance, capacity and overall usage where required
