Summary

The Associate, Actuarial Applications role at Fortitude Re involves supporting technology initiatives and building data solutions architecture. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field, experience with dashboarding systems, domain knowledge of insurance or reinsurance (preferred), programming experience, and experience in building cloud-based data solutions in AWS. The role is based in the Brentwood, TN office on a hybrid basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
  • Experience with dashboarding systems (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Minimum experience of one year in programming (Python, Julia and/or R) and SQL
  • Experience in building cloud-based data solutions in AWS
  • Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required
  • Prior knowledge and experience in the fintech, investment banking or insurance industry

Responsibilities

  • Implement strategic and tactical initiatives related to data infrastructure, data modeling, analytics/reporting, Python development, cloud computing (AWS and Azure), and applications development
  • Operate in an agile development environment, applying DevOps principles
  • Understand current state data pipelines/processes and contribute to future state optimization
  • Ingest and analyze new/existing data sets and implement end-to-end processing
  • Implement data processing (ETL/ELT) pipelines and data approval workflows
  • Test and debug applications
