Summary
Join Coalition, a leading Active Insurance provider, as a seasoned insurance predictive modeler. This role offers significant ownership and requires strong technical skills and actuarial expertise. You will be the actuarial subject matter expert, developing and maintaining modeling pipelines for pricing functions across cyber and executive risk lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize our rating structure and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be innovative, data-driven, and possess excellent communication skills. This position provides opportunities to push boundaries, contribute unique ideas, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- 7+ years of pricing experience
- Has completed 5+ Actuarial Exams
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science or any other related field
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, and/or SQL
- Excellent communication skills including ability to vulgarize complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured data-driven way
- Intellectual curiosity and an interest in our mission of solving cyber risk
- Strong understanding of actuarial pricing concepts
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, be creative and think outside the box
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modeling pipelines framework with relevant metrics and analysis that are scalable, efficient, accurate and complete, to enable data-informed pricing decisions
- Act as the main liaison between the Actuarial Modeling and the Pricing team, seeking to find the best trade-off solutions to optimize business outcomes
- Model Governance, including ongoing model monitoring, clear understanding of model limitations and communication of the results to stakeholders
- Develop tools to enhance model interpretation, assess model performance and provide meaningful insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Seek innovative opportunities to enhance model performance through new data, features or modeling techniques
- Perform, document and present ad hoc quantitative analysis
- Straddle the worlds of insurance, data science, engineering and security experts to shape the most suitable data-driven solutions
- Act as an ambassador to get model users buy-in through strong collaboration with all relevant partners and digestible presentations to non-technical audiences
- Provide coaching and learning opportunities to junior team members
Preferred Qualifications
- ACAS or FCAS designation
- Cyber and/or executive liability experience
- Experience in predictive modeling
- Ability to build transactional data pipelines
- Master degree in Data Science or Actuarial Science
- Ability to build UI/UX design
