Join Renaissance®, a global leader in pre-K–12 education technology, as a Temporary Associate Curriculum Developer: ELA for a 3-month, full-time (or part-time for exceptional candidates) remote assignment. You will create, edit, and review engaging ELA lessons, ensuring grade-level appropriateness, standards alignment, and inclusivity. The role requires strong literacy instruction knowledge, curriculum standards expertise, and excellent communication skills. Previous upper elementary ELA teaching experience and ELA curriculum development experience are preferred. Requirements
- Has a strong understanding of literacy instruction based in the Science of Reading, educational theory, pedagogy, and instructional design
- Has deep knowledge of curriculum standards and frameworks
- Has strong writing/editorial skills
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Can use educational technology tools in creative ways
- Can use Google / Microsoft suites of tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets / Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Can navigate a remote working environment successfully (using video conferencing and messaging systems, proactively managing time, tasks, and priorities, ensuring compliance with company trainings and requirements, promptly responding to communication)
- Can work collaboratively with a team
- Is trusted for follow-through, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines
- Is eager for feedback and able to implement it
- Is passionate about leveraging ed-tech solutions and Nearpod’s content and product to meet the unique needs of K-12 students, teachers, and administrators
- Previous experience as an upper elementary ELA educator
- Bachelor's degree in education or a field related to ELA
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and review lessons and activities that incorporate specific skills in a rigorous and thorough manner
- Create, edit, and review lessons and activities that feature targeted instructional objectives
- Create, edit, and review lessons and activities that are intentionally designed and grounded in proven methodology
- Create, edit, and review lessons and activities that focus on fostering student engagement
- Create, edit, and review lessons and activities that are inclusive of all learners, equitable, and culturally responsive
- Provide expertise in the subject matter of the curriculum being developed
- Evaluate/categorize/survey existing Nearpod assets
- Deliver assignments on time and within scope
- Implement instructional strategies informed by current trends, best practices, and innovative approaches prioritized by the team
- Be available during core team hours to participate in essential meetings and/or collaborative work
Preferred Qualifications
ELA curriculum development experience for an ed-tech company, educational publishing company or at a district/school-wide level
