Join Natera as a Biopharma Business Development Associate Director and play a key leadership role in the companyโs pharma services business within the rare disease space. This strategic position demands a proven ability to cultivate partnerships across pharmaceutical, biotech, and digital health sectors. You will leverage your deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and experience in structuring deals involving clinical trials, real-world evidence, and sponsored testing. The role involves identifying and managing strategic partnerships, leading cross-functional deal teams, developing strategic plans, and evaluating new business models. You will also provide thought leadership on industry trends, analyze market needs, and present insights to executive leadership. Finally, you will lead negotiations, structure complex business development deals, and represent Natera at industry events.
Requirements
- This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have an access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
- Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements
- Employee must pass post offer criminal background check
- Bachelorโs degree required in business, life sciences, economics, or another related field, or equivalent required
- A minimum of 7 years of total industry related experience with 4 or more years of commercial experience
- Proven track record of effectively driving large scale partnering initiatives

- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities

Responsibilities
- Identify, initiate, and manage strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and technology companies
- Lead cross-functional deal teams from initial outreach through contract execution
- Own and develop long-term strategic plans for partnership growth in line with company goals
- Drive evaluation of new business models, including risk-sharing partnerships and platform collaborations
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in drug development, clinical trials, precision medicine, and diagnostics
- Analyze partner pipelines, market needs, and whitespace to inform opportunity prioritization
- Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership and influence company strategy
- Lead negotiations and structuring of complex business development deals, including research collaborations, licensing, and co-commercialization
- Partner with legal, finance, and regulatory stakeholders to structure compliant and value-driven agreements
- Represent Natera at key industry meetings, conferences, and partner events to build credibility and relationships
- Serve as a trusted liaison to external partners, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams
- Plan and coordinate all customer meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in business, life sciences, economics, another related field, or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience is rare disease sales is a huge plus
