Summary
Join AbbVie as an Associate Director, HEOR Strategy, Solid Tumor Oncology and contribute to the development and execution of strategies for solid tumor assets. You will be accountable for co-creating HEOR strategies and plans, directing the design and analysis of access evidence projects, and communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include supporting commercialization activities, ensuring strong partnerships with Value & Evidence functions, and shaping patient access policy. You will also contribute to measuring and communicating the impact of payer/pathway partnerships. This remote position requires a graduate degree and 5+ years of experience (or 3+ years with a PharmD/PhD).
Requirements
- Graduate degree minimum required (e.g. MSc, MPH, PhD)
- 5+ years of experience required with MSc/MPH/MBA degree; 3+ years of experience required with PharmD/PhD in HEOR or relevant related fields (health economics, epidemiology, health services research, HTA/market access, or other research-focused public health field)
- Demonstrated in depth understanding of fundamental health services research methods and tools, including health economic modeling, patient-reported outcomes, statistics, and real-world evidence studies including technical and methodological aspects of registries and observational study design, implementation, analysis and interpretation
- Demonstrated HEOR performance in high-quality high-speed dynamic work environment
- Demonstrated agility to meet deadlines under pressure, accelerated timelines and constrained resources
- Experience with HTA organizations such as NICE, IQWIG, CADTH, MSAC, ICER and other HTA groups
- Experience with IDN/GPO/collaborative groups on external research partnerships
- Capable of independently managing complex non-interventional study projects
- Knowledge and understanding of the processes for developing health technologies including drugs and diagnostic devices
- Excellent interpersonal skills required: ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customers
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to assess anticipated value for projects/programs to ensure alignment to business priorities and prioritize accordingly
- An "execution mindset" focused on getting things done quickly and simply
- Strong project management abilities (contracting, budgeting, vendor management) essential
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities
- Ability to influence key members of medical, clinical, and commercial teams constructively and without conflict
- Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence is a prioritiy
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability to anticipate needs and to work proactively to prioritize & address/resolve

Responsibilities
- Accountable for the co-creation of solid tumor HEOR strategy and plans for all products within the solid tumor portfolio and to ensure strategic plans within his/her TAs are constantly relevant to product development and the marketplace
- Directs the design, conduct, and analysis of access evidence projects within each product area strategy across multiple programs and is accountable for project execution, budget and meeting/exceeding ethical, scientific, regulatory, commercial, and quality requirements
- AD interacts with cross-functional leaders for solid tumor disease area. Highly and effectively communicates findings to internal leadership (Executive Leadership, Area VPs, GMs etc.) and external (e.g. HTAs/Payers, patient advocacy groups and KOLs etc)
- In the post-marketing setting, AD is responsible for supporting and executing HEOR product life-cycle and labeling strategies. Responsible for integrating the expressed needs for value demonstration from customers (payers, physicians and patients), the direction of the commercial organization in product marketing and the realities of the science surrounding a product in developing strategies
- Accelerates scientific HEOR strategic support of commercialization activities including the facilitation of obtaining and maintaining market access and growing the market, as defined by HSOL
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery of access evidence book of work under their remit, from strategy development to content pull through
- Accountable for ensuring strong partnership with all relevant Value & Evidence functions to ensure a comprehensive HEOR voice is represented in cross-functional meetings
- Partners with HSOL and other colleagues to shape solid tumor oncology patient access policy environment, including successfully engaging and collaborating HTA/ payers, clinical practice guideline organizations and US oncology pathway stakeholders
- Partners with HSOL and other colleagues to establish external alliances to drive Solid Tumor Oncology payer/pathway centric fit-for-purpose evidence generation in support of pre- and post-launch assets
- Supports development of evidence across the oncology enterprise to understand and establish population diversity across solid tumor in support of advancing clinical development (e.g., regulatory diversity plan) and post-launch LCM
- Contributes to the measurement and communication of the impact of payer/pathway and other oncology evidence partnerships to the enterprise leadership and external scientific community
