Requirements
- Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the America Bar Association, with substantive experience in health law
- 6+ years of experience with a national law firm working with physician practices and health systems on general corporate matters to include physician/hospital joint ventures, structuring and implementation of IPAs, PHOs, and ACOs, and structuring and negotiating value-based payment arrangements such as with Medicare Advantage payers and ACOs participating in the CMS MSSP and REACH programs
- 6+ years of experience in a healthcare environment in the performance of operational, general, or other specialty legal services for health systems, health plans, medical groups, providers, clinics, or healthcare delivery organizations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to work on concrete deadlines and deliver results independently
- Demonstrated past ability to perform legal functions with high ethical standards
- Comfort working in a fast paced, ground up, business build
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Responsibilities
- Leverage and support deep working knowledge of healthcare operations law to help the business in achievement of business strategy
- Deliver effective health care legal operations across the enterprise and its subsidiary/affiliated partners
- Supervise, direct, manage and collaborate with other members of the legal team, as the organization scales and the teams grow
- Prepare, review, and revise corporate documents to aid with internal processes, such as the governance matrix, approval and signature authority policy, articles of incorporation, and other materials needed to operate effectively
- Coordinate with outside counsel on matters requiring subject matter expertise
- Serve as a subject matter expert to multiple areas of the business during periods of high growth, ensuring that processes, procedures, and foundations for decision making are supported by best practice and working knowledge of current industry regulations
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned
