Summary

Join American College of Education as an Associate Information Security Analyst and safeguard our critical information, systems, and assets. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security or a related field. Or recent graduate from a relevant program
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates self-reliance by meeting/exceeding workflow needs
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and motivation, concern for students, teamwork, and excellent time management skills
  • Follows established processes as outlined by organization and leadership
  • Completes assigned duties based on daily business needs and individual skill set
  • Consistently produces a high volume of quality work
  • Capable, and adapts as needed, to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with other department personnel

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and analyzes security alerts and incidents to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and controls
  • Conducts regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborates with IT and other departments to ensure the secure configuration and operation of systems and applications
  • Assists in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees
  • Conducts system vulnerability and compliance assessments and remediation across OS, Cloud, and Infrastructure as Code environments
  • Implements and monitors basic security controls such as access control lists (ACLs), antivirus solutions, and encryption technologies
  • Prepares reports on security incidents and trends, providing analysis and recommendations for mitigating future risks
  • Responds to security incidents and provide support for incident investigations and remediation efforts
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats and technologies
  • Documents security incidents, procedures, and changes

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP) are highly desirable
