Summary

Join our team as an Associate Picture Editor at Metro Headquarters in London, covering a maternity leave position for one year. The successful candidate will have experience leading night and weekend shifts, excellent Photoshop skills, and knowledge of working on an online picture desk.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil picture requests from the News Desk and other sections of the site
• Liaise with the Picture Editor on the content of the daily picture queues and follow up on stories developing throughout the day and source any additional photographic material needed
• Photoshop skills needed to create composite previews using two or more images for use on the home page and our social media
• Create graphics to illustrate stories if appropriate
• Able to communicate with reporters to ensure we are using the best images to illustrate and sell the story
• Communicate with the rest of the team to make sure the best person for each request is assigned to the right stories
