This integral role supports the sales cycle by strategizing with the SMB Sales team, conducting product demonstrations, managing pilots, and creating resources for team enablement. You will articulate Skillsoft's value, research prospect needs, and maintain competitive knowledge. Success requires strong demonstration and communication skills, along with experience in a pre-sales or solutions consultant role within the eLearning/LMS industry. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is needed. This field-based position involves approximately 10% travel.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a Pre-sales or Solutions Consultant role in the eLearning/LMS industry
- Field based employee with 10% travel
- Strong demonstration skills that leverage
- Strong questioning and listen skills to complete discovery
- Sales Consultancy Skills - incorporates selling mindset into consultative approach in order to achieve goals
- Experience in presales or related role
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking in large or small groups with executives, IT Management, stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations
- Ability to conduct demonstrations of Skillsoft’s offering, both in a virtual or face-to-face situation, by leveraging listening, questioning, and storytelling skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Video creation and editing skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, education or related field; or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales support by articulating the value of Skillsoft, executing and designing engaging demos, evaluations and pilot requests
- Research and understand the prospect’s business to target demo or other presales activities to the customer’s business problems and requirements
- Maintain and utilize competitive knowledge to set traps in demonstrations, evaluations and during the RFP process
- Conduct regular prospect planning sessions with AEs to identify ways to support the progression of the sales cycle for key opportunities
- Describe and discuss the value of Skillsoft’s customer onboarding and customer success
- Present technical requirements and determine when to engage additional Skillsoft SMEs such as Platform Solution Architects, Product, etc
- Create and maintain demo recordings and other resources to be used by sales team to be more self-sufficient and to increase the velocity of the deal
- Work with team admins for Consensus and Highspot to update key videos and resources
- Maintain industry knowledge and trends relating to implementation, elearning technologies, end-user and LMS technologies
- Maintain knowledge and skills, through ongoing training in Skillsoft product areas including platform and content
- Enter key prospect activities and opportunity progress in Skillsoft’s CRM
