Summary

The Attorney will be responsible for advocating on behalf of clients, preparing correspondence, drafting pleadings, attending court appearances, managing calendar, conducting depositions and cross-examinations of doctors, negotiating settlements, proactive case management, conducting training seminars for clients on changing employment laws, and maintaining current knowledge of employment law and statutes. The Attorney must have a well-established and exclusive employment litigation, defense background, school district defense experience required, trial experience preferred but not required, experience with public entity defense a plus, knowledge of class/PAGA inclusive, Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees, and be a member, State Bar of California in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third party administrators, and self-insured employers
• Prepare correspondence to clients
• Draft pleadings
• Attend court appearances
• Manage calendar
• Conduct depositions and cross-examinations of doctors
• Negotiate settlements on workers’ compensation files
• Proactive case management
• Conduct training seminars for clients on changing employment laws

Preferred Qualifications

• Trial experience preferred, but not required
• Experience with public entity defense a plus
