Requirements

  • Must have prior data reporting experience and advanced Excel skills included but not limited to, Vlookup/Index/Xlookup, pivot tables, concat, if statements, macros, countifs, sumifs, conditional formatting
  • As an SME on the team with data and Excel processes, the Authorization Data Specialist should be a skilled specialist with solid working proficiency and must possess a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with members of other teams such as Developers to create continued automation as well as internally with Team Leads to improve processes and produce
  • Must have high regard for accuracy and attention-to-detail to avoid issues that create payroll disruption for caregivers or delays in care
  • Displays solid business acumen by understanding the role and impact of the Authorizations department and follows all SOPs, practices, and guidance given
  • Must be able to operate independently to some degree with occasional or limited oversight and direction
  • As a skilled specialist, completes task in resourceful and effective ways and can evaluate and select strong solutions for the team
  • Must have an excellent ability to establish and maintain harmonious relations with internal and external customers by being courteous and helpful, showing appreciation and respect for others’ needs, expectations and perspectives
  • Flexible and adaptable to change and working on a large scope or volume of work
  • Should be a strong and effective communicator both in writing and verbally to convey and receive information inter- and intra-departmentally

Responsibilities

  • Compile lists of case work to delegate to team for review whether that is for the continuations team, the pink visits team, errors and mismatches to correct, and the out of state team
  • Manage the “pink visits” squad within the authorization team which proactively corrects visits with authorization related issues in preparation for caregiver payroll processing
  • Organize issues for the team to review, proactively generate future reports to account for schedule/units issues and requests from plan with tracking and interdepartmental communication with coordinators to update schedules accordingly with a goal of no issues pre-payroll processing
  • Use Excel and data organizing skills to upload authorization data into our software
  • Aggregate authorizations data for imports and audits
  • Generate reports for “continuations team” so that they can effectively request continuations from contracts that we work with, with a goal of zero cases being placed on hold
  • Ensure data syncs between our two software and conduct regular audits ensuring accuracy
  • Serve as a PM/IT liaison and work with Developers to further optimize systems and processes finding automation and efficiencies where possible; address concerns and facilitate a smooth communication process
  • Prepare and present regular reports on audit findings, trends, and performance metrics to management, offering insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency
  • Work internally with the Finance teams like the collections team/payroll resolution teams to help correct or avoid payroll or care continuation issues
  • As FreedomCare grows and expands, create new state processes that are appropriate and compliant with each state and their requirements and systems
  • Provide ongoing Excel training and support to other Authorization specialists or Team Leads as needed
  • Other project work and duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of related experience
