Summary

Join Amber Labs, a cutting-edge UK and European technology consultancy, as a Solution Architect. You will design and deliver solutions on a large AWS-based platform, collaborating with multiple teams. Responsibilities include solution design and delivery, ongoing support, and strategic planning. Requirements

• In-depth understanding of core AWS services, including VPCs, EC2, Lambda, S3, Route 53, VPC Endpoints, and more
• Ability to design and implement complex solutions using AWS-native tools and services
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and proxy patterns
• Good understanding of containerisation, orchestration with Kubernetes, and container services within AWS (e.g., EKS)
• Ability to document designs clearly and effectively, including architectural diagrams, decision logs, and technical specifications
• Skilled in influencing stakeholders and negotiating design choices, ensuring solutions align with business goals while adhering to technical and governance standards
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyse multiple design options, making evidence-based decisions

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver solutions across one of the UK’s largest AWS-based platforms
• Collaborate closely with multiple teams to understand their requirements, propose effective solutions, and ensure seamless integration with the broader architecture
• Work with various teams to resolve challenges in solution delivery and incidents
• Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives as part of the senior management team’s objectives
• Collaborate with fellow architects, sharing ‘tribal knowledge’

• Experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (Dynatrace)
• Experience with Monitoring & Observability Tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience with AWS EKS & KOPS
• Experience with HashiCorp Tools (Consul, Vault)
• Experience with VPN Technologies (OpenVPN, Fortigate site-to-site VPNs)
• Experience with Atlassian Suite (Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, Crowd)
• Experience with AWS Workspaces
• Experience with LDAP and Identity Management
• Experience with Single Sign-On (Redhat SSO, OIDC)
• Experience with Firewalling (AWS Network Firewall, Fortigate)
• Experience with Proxy Servers (nginx, openresty, squid, FortiWeb)
• Experience with DevOps Tools (Terraform, Concourse, SonarQube)
• Experience with AWS Transit Gateway
