Summary

Join Abnormal AI's Inbound Email Products - Systems (IEPS) team as a Software Engineer. The team is responsible for Abnormal’s core Inbound Email Security product backend systems, focusing on enhancing stability, scalability, and broadening product impact. You will design and execute software projects, mentor junior team members, collaborate with various teams, and contribute to engineering excellence. The role requires a BS degree in a related field, 3+ years of backend software development experience with distributed systems, and experience with Python and/or Go. The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS, K8, Django, Spark, and Prometheus. Abnormal AI offers competitive compensation, including bonuses and restricted stock units.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
  • 3+ years of industry experience on backend software development & distributed systems, designing & building software applications
  • Experience with our stack: Python and/or Go
  • Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
  • Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
  • Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices, and conventions
  • You’re growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute software projects critical to Abnormal’s success in collaboration with a team of engineers, encompassing conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers
  • Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the tea,m and participating in professional development activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with our stack: AWS, K8, Django, Spark, Prometheus
  • Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies
