Join Fandango as a Software Engineer and contribute to the development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software and services for Fandango and Sports Next businesses. Collaborate with a talented team of engineers to deliver critical projects and systems. Work with Product Managers and Quality Engineers to ensure high-quality software and user experiences. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to design and implementation planning. Troubleshoot issues on local and remote systems. Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer working in a back-end or full-stack capacity
- A strong understanding of software design patterns, development practices, and principles
- 1+ year of professional experience in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript/Node
- C#/.NET
- Java
- Experience working and coding with relational databases
- Experience working with version control systems (Git or similar)
- Working knowledge of common networking, infrastructure, and technical security fundamentals
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain software and services following established SDLC practices for applications/APIs written in C#/node.js
- Perform critical code reviews and collaborate with peers on software solutions
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Quality Engineers to deliver high-quality, high-profile software and user experiences
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, retros, sprint planning, etc.)
- Contribute to design and implementation planning
- Troubleshoot issues on local and remote systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing consumer-facing software, especially at scale
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with a variety of data stores: Document databases, columnar data stores, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc
- Experience with cloud technologies and serverless applications (AWS, GCP, Azure or similar)
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and/or service-oriented architectures
- Familiarity with software build, release, deployment, and monitoring tools and practices
