Backend Developer

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in roles as a Backend Developer
• Java expertise (minimum version 8)
• Strong experience with Spring Boot (versions 2.5 - 3)
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs
• Knowledge of cloud services, particularly Azure (App Services, API Management, VMs), or other providers like AWS or Google Cloud
• Proficiency with relational databases, specifically SQL Server or MySQL
• Experience with GitHub for version control
• English proficiency at a conversational level
• Graduate from an accredited software engineering Bootcamp or four-year university, Computer Science/Information Technology Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend systems using Java (minimum version 8) and Spring Boot (versions 2.5 - 3)
• Design and implement RESTful APIs that connect with various services
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Work with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) to deploy, manage, and monitor applications
• Manage and optimize relational databases, including SQL Server or MySQL
• Utilize version control systems like GitHub for source code management
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and development standards
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to maintain and improve performance
• Optionally, manage deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps
