Remote Backend Developer

Summary

Atimi is seeking an experienced backend software developer for a fully remote position in Canada. The candidate should have extensive Java development experience, AWS cloud environment knowledge, and CI/CD pipelines experience. They will be responsible for collaborating with the project team, ensuring code quality, planning and contributing to architecture, refactoring and improving codebases, communicating technical decisions, taking responsibility for releases, and getting involved in DevOps.

Requirements

• Strong Java development experience (6+ years)
• Experience with AWS cloud environment (4+ years)
• Experience with using and/or configuring CI/CD pipelines
• Experience building scalable software services (e.g., serverless, microservices.)
• Strong OOD skills; knowledge of design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Strong database modelling skills; experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience working directly with clients and other project stakeholders to define and refine requirements
• Strong English skills (written and verbal.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Experience with event-driven architectures: principles and implementation
• Experience with DDD
• Experience with TDD
