Backend Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Backend Engineer position at Grafana Labs, based in Spain. The role involves working on the Asserts team, building and operating low-latency microservices in Java and databases like Graph DB. The employee will be responsible for delivering new features, creating design documents, participating in on-call rotations, and gaining a deeper understanding of Grafana’s observability products and systems.

Requirements

• You have strong experience in Java programming and have built and deployed Java based microservices
• You have experience with Kubernetes
• You have some experience delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven way
• You have some experience in building and deploying SaaS software on any one of the cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure

Responsibilities

• Work with your team to deliver new features
• Create design documents, collaborate within and across teams
• Build and operate critical systems
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Build expertise of Grafana’s observability products and systems

Preferred Qualifications

• You have been responsible for operating production services and organizing/participating in on-call rotations
• You like to share your knowledge by creating blog posts, giving tech talks at meetups and conferences

Benefits

• Base compensation range for this role in Spain is EUR 61 ,533 - EUR 73 ,839. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process
