Backend Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Backend Engineer at Xsolla responsible for creating, developing, and implementing backend services, frontend applications, documentation, software development kits, and tools for the XBE platform. The employee will collaborate with integration and DevOps engineers to handle customer feature requests and bugs.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience working with micro-service architecture
• Minimum 5 years experience working with relational and/or NoSQL database
• Knowledge of Kubernetes including containerization, pods, ingresses and other k8s concepts
• Experience with HTTP REST APIs
• Knowledge of NodeJS and ReactJS
• Proficient with Javascript/Typescript
• Experience with MongoDB
• Excellent documentation and communication habits

Responsibilities

• Documentation of backend services, tools, sample projects, tutorials and white papers
• Maintain backend services and shared libraries
• Work with Integration team to develop features and resolve bugs
• Work with DevOps team to improve developer experience with tools and infrastructure
• Work with DevOps team to help handle deployments of XBE platform to K8s

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine
• Experience developing games for PC and mobile platforms
• Experience shipping titles on console platforms
• Previous experience working with game studios or other backend as a service companies
