Backend Engineer

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms and data types
• Experience with service oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing
• Experience with Java (Spring)
• Proficient in both written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Build new features with the product team
• Maintain and improve existing functionality
• Write unit tests and functional tests for added functionality
• Support the design and implementation of architectural principles
• Closely interact with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in modern PHP (8.3) and Symfony
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub actions)
• Knowledge of functional programming paradigm; experience with a language like Haskell, Scala or Rust
