Backend Engineer

Join HomeVision, a well-funded company revolutionizing the real estate valuation industry, as a senior engineering contractor. You will play a key role in architecting and growing our technology platform while mentoring the engineering team. This role demands strong empathy for users, understanding of complex ecosystems, and the ability to build pragmatic technology solutions. You will work directly with co-founders on Golang/Python on AWS stack, building workflow automation products for home appraisal professionals. The ideal candidate possesses extensive backend development experience, familiarity with Unix/Linux and distributed systems, and a passion for fintech or real estate.

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend development
• Proven working experience in Unix/Linux environments and on distributed systems
• Ability to learn and master new programming languages and technologies

Responsibilities

• Work on a Golang/Python on AWS stack and build workflow automation products for our core user base of home appraisal professionals
• Work on entire products— everything from releasing a valuation model to building frontend data visualizations that help communicate results in a human, intuitive way to our users and customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in one or more of the following technologies: Go, Python, Elasticsearch, and Docker
• Experience in scientific and numerical computing (e.g., numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch, jupyter)
