Requirements

• You have 3+ years of commercial experience developing complex, distributed applications and writing services in Java
• You have disciplined coding practices, and experience with code reviews and pull requests. You model best practices to your peers
• You have strong communication and team collaboration skills, both written and verbal. A Canva engineer strives to understand the exact problem before jumping into writing code

Responsibilities

• Developing and iterating on technical proposals – outlining how solutions will be structured and developed
• Developing solutions you’ve designed with engineering leads and product stakeholders from the ground up through to deployment into production
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks within the application and broader infrastructure
• Participating in design meetings, hiring interviews, and code reviews
