Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Java, MySQL, ElasticSearch
  • Ability to write performant, efficient code, including appropriate testing
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with team members, communicating effectively, and taking ownership of projects and outcomes
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking and attention to detail
  • Excitement about contributing to a rapidly growing and critical function of Canva and improving the help experience for millions of people around the world

Responsibilities

  • Building efficient and reusable backend abstractions and systems
  • Working closely with stakeholders and content designers to create world-class content structure and management
  • Collaborating within and across teams to create wholistic solutions
  • Identifying and improving practices and methodologies for backend engineering
  • Finding opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements
  • Empowering and mentoring other engineers
