Back-End Software Engineer, Remote - Poland

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer within LotusFlare's Server Engineering team, responsible for developing, securing, and scaling the backend infrastructure to support a platform that integrates with mobile client-side libraries and apps along with mobile network carrier systems. The candidate should have 3+ years of experience in programming and building secure scalable web services, distributed systems, RESTful services, understanding of network stack and HTTP protocol, concurrency, multithreading or asynchronous programming, data modeling in SQL and/or NoSQL environment, and preferably with experience in Java/any JVM language, PHP, C++, Scala, Lua, AWS, Redis, Kafka, and Cassandra. Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience
• Programming experience in Java/any JVM language / PHP / C++ / Scala/ Lua
• 3+ years of experience building secure scalable web services
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience with RESTful services
• Good understanding of network stack and HTTP protocol
• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, or asynchronous programming
• Understanding of data modeling in SQL and/or NoSQL environment

Responsibilities

Develop, secure, and scale the backend infrastructure to support the platform in order to handle millions of concurrent API calls

Preferred Qualifications

• (any combination of) AWS, Redis, Kafka and Cassandra experience would be a plus
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience would be a plus
