Summary

Join Lyft's Customer Care team as an experienced backend engineer to design and optimize workflows for customer support chats and help portals. You will leverage AI technologies to provide efficient and personalized support, transforming challenges into seamless experiences. Responsibilities include design, development, deployment, and maintenance of features and components. You will write high-quality, scalable code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with internal partners. On-call rotation and knowledge sharing are also part of the role. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python or Go, experience with APIs and microservices, and experience with databases and cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering industry experience with a high level programming language (Python and/or Go are preferable)
  • Experience defining API schemas and developing backend services in a microservices environment
  • Experience designing, building and improving a set of team owned components
  • Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
  • Experience writing clear and scalable design documentation
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for design, development, deployment, monitoring, operation and maintenance of features and components with limited to no supervision
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, scalable, maintainable code
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
  • Unblock, support and communicate with internal partners to achieve results
  • Participate in our team's on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and support other teams to mitigate customer-impacting events
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  • Be aware and contribute to roadmap and architecture based on technology and our needs
