Biostatistics Intern

Summary

Join Biogen's Biostatistics Department for a 12-week summer internship (June-August 2025)! Resume reviews begin in January 2025. This remote internship involves working on projects such as expanding spatial proteomics analytical toolkits or assessing methods for estimating treatment effects. You will synthesize methodology papers, develop simulation code (R or other statistical packages), document code, and present findings. Successful candidates will have experience with statistical analysis using R and SAS, knowledge of the biotechnology industry, and the ability to translate data into business insights. The internship is open to PhD students who have completed two years of graduate work and passed their qualifying exams.

Requirements

• Experience performing statistical analysis with R, SAS and other statistical packages
• Knowledge or interest in working in the biotechnology industry
• Ability to translate data into business insights
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S
• At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
• Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university
• Currently enrolled in a PhD program
• Completed two years of graduate work and passed doctorate qualification exam prior to the start of the internship, with a graduation date no earlier than August 2025
• Majored in statistics, biostatistics, or other related fields

Responsibilities

• Read and synthesize key methodology papers
• Develop simulation code in R or other statistical package
• Explore results in a systematic way
• Document any new code and package it in a user-friendly way
• Produce a final technical write-up
• Give a final presentation

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of R or python (for Project 1)
