Join CA Fortune as a fully remote Power BI & Data Operations Specialist, based in Central America or Mexico. Maintain and improve business intelligence dashboards and data flow, supporting a structured workflow connecting data from Repsly (via API), through a Python script, into an Azure SQL database, and finally into Power BI dashboards. You will build, update, and manage Power BI dashboards, check data accuracy, fix reporting issues, and use Excel for data analysis. Troubleshooting data flow issues and writing SQL queries are also key responsibilities. This role requires strong Power BI, data analysis, and SQL skills, along with an understanding of ETL processes and APIs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-managing, and able to work independently.
Requirements
- Power BI Knowledge: Proven experience in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting dashboards using advanced DAX and visual logic
- Data Analysis Skills: Strong ability to validate, interpret, and analyze data for accuracy and consistency across multiple sources
- Basic SQL Skills: Comfortable writing and modifying SQL queries to inspect data and support troubleshooting in Azure SQL databases
- ETL Understanding: Familiar with data integration workflows, including API data ingestion via Python scripts and automated updates to SQL databases
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills for ad hoc analysis, data prep, and cleanup using formulas, pivot tables, and formatting
- Data Visualization Skills: Ability to create clear, user-friendly dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic decision-making
- API Workflow Awareness: Understanding of how APIs function in data pipelines (e.g., Repsly API), even if not coding directly
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Able to troubleshoot issues independently and escalate when deeper technical fixes are needed
- Attention to Detail: Consistently checks data quality, identifies issues quickly, and ensures accurate reporting
- Self-Management: Works independently, manages priorities effectively, and meets deadlines without constant supervision
- Power BI (Desktop & Service): Essential for building, maintaining, and publishing dashboards; must know how to use DAX, manage data models, and optimize report performance
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced): Required for data preparation, analysis, and validation using pivot tables, advanced formulas, and formatting
- SQL (Azure SQL Database): Ability to read and write queries for data inspection, validation, and troubleshooting within a cloud-based SQL environment
- Python (Basic Understanding): While coding isnβt required, you must understand the role of Python scripts in the data pipeline and be able to identify when script-related issues occur
- API Integration (Repsly API): Must understand how APIs are used to pull data into the system, particularly Repsly or similar platforms
Responsibilities
- Build, update, and manage Power BI dashboards using DAX and custom visuals
- Regularly check data for accuracy and fix reporting issues
- Use Excel for quick data analysis and prep work
- Write and review SQL queries to understand or troubleshoot data in the Azure SQL database
- Understand and monitor our data pipeline: Data comes from Repsly through an API
- A Python script pulls this data and updates the Azure database
- The database feeds the Power BI reports
- Spot and investigate issues in the data flow and escalate for fixes if needed
