Summary

The job is for a Cache Developer to support the modernization of the VA's Electronic Health Record system. The candidate will design, code, test, debug, and document software in various programming languages, with specific experience required in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS, Oracle, EHR systems, integration protocols, and messaging formats.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science
• 5+ years’ experience in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare UCR, IRIS database, ObjectScript, XSLT Development and/or Oracle
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), VA’s Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), and/or Oracle Health Millennium
• 5+ years of experience with software development and testing
• Must have strong software development experience
• Must have experience in Integration protocols such as TCPIP/MLLP, SFTP, REST, SOAP
• Should have proficiency in CCDA, HL7, JSON and XML messaging

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data integrations using Cache/InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS between HIE partners and internal On-prem/Cloud systems
• Debug and fix defects in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS related to HIE connected Healthcare participants
• Develop XSLTs and DTLs to transform CCDA/FHIR/HL7 messages to and from Summary Document Architecture (SDA) format
• Ensure systems development and support and create design and technical specifications from business requirement specifications
• Oversee best practices design and development, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with fellow developers and Technical Leads
• Enable successful project delivery and customer satisfaction
• Drive project and technology goals in compliance with organizational objectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CI/CD Pipelines using GitLab is preferred
• Experience in using Cache/IRIS/HealthShare Terminal sessions will be preferred
• Strong knowledge of applying software development methodologies (SDLC, Agile) is an added advantage
• Proficiencies in relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server will be a bonus
