Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, or in Data Science / Computer Science, or closely related
  • Experience in QGIS Software is required
  • Python coding skills are required
  • Prior experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D
  • Proficiency in the creation of civil land development sheet sets, including grading, site drainage, and access road design
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision, including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Create site layouts and civil land development design sheet sets in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial-scale renewable energy projects
  • Participate in the development of cutting-edge civil engineering tools that utilize Python in order to process large quantities of GIS data
  • Apply engineering judgement and perform QAQC of the outputs of these advanced GIS/Python tools
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
  • Lead multiple projects
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard procedures and criteria
  • Prepare project documentation, including scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Support client interaction for multiple projects
  • May act as Engineer of Record
  • Assign tasks to and direct less experienced team members to complete assignments
  • Assist with proposals to provide professional services
  • Provide mentoring for staff engineers
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments with high proficiency and confidence
  • Receive guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
  • Receive a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
  • Perform essential duties, including meeting deliverables and deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Civil Engineering licensure or EIT is desirable
  • Prior renewable energy project experience is highly desirable
