Summary
Join Experian as a Cloud Data Architect & Engineer, reporting to the VP of Software Development. Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud-based data solutions using AWS and healthcare data systems. This hybrid role blends strategic architecture with hands-on engineering to support operational and analytical use cases within the healthcare ecosystem for Claims Management. You will architect HIPAA-compliant data architectures, migrate legacy systems to AWS, define data architecture standards, collaborate with clinical and business partners, and implement AWS tools for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics. Additionally, you will build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, integrate healthcare data from various sources, implement real-time data streaming, and ensure data quality and governance. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with at least 3 years on AWS
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, LOINC)
- Proficiency in AWS services: S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, HealthLake, Kinesis, Lambda, IAM, or CloudWatch
- Experience with SQL, Python, and Spark in cloud environments
- Experience with HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data privacy/security best practices
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Strategy Design HIPAA-compliant data architectures using AWS-native services such as AWS HealthLake, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and S3
- Lead the migration of legacy healthcare data systems to AWS cloud platforms
- Define and enforce data architecture standards aligned with HIPAA, HITECH, and 21st Century Cures Actrequirements
- Collaborate with clinical and business partners to align data solutions with patient care and operational goals
- Evaluate and implement AWS-native tools for healthcare data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics
- Data Engineering Build and maintain secure, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Athena
- Integrate healthcare data from EHRs, HL7/FHIR APIs, claims, and IoT devices into centralized data lakes and warehouses
- Implement real-time data streaming using Amazon Kinesis or MSK (Managed Kafka) for clinical workflows
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance using AWS Glue Data Catalog and Lake Formation
- Automate data workflows and infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
