Cloud Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The role involves collaboration with development and operations teams to ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure. Key responsibilities include designing infrastructure using GCP services, developing code in Python, utilizing Terraform for automation, collaborating with other engineers, creating automated tests, monitoring system performance, and ensuring cloud resource availability.

Requirements

• Proven experience of more than 4 years as a Cloud Engineer, setting strategy and defining ways of working
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
• Proficiency in Python
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies
• Comfortable working in an agile software development environment and have experience of CI/CD and deployment strategies
• Adaptability and flexibility when dealing with change and ambiguity
• Ability to interpret and communicate information in a clear and concise manner to others (technical/non-technical team members etc.)
• Open and friendly personality, excellent interpersonal and team-working skills as well as a problem-solving mindset and self-improve skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Bachelor or higher degree in computer science (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using GCP services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Operations
• Develop and maintain codebases in Python, ensuring best practices and code quality
• Utilize Terraform to manage and automate infrastructure provisioning
• Collaborate with other engineers for version control and use GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines
• Create and execute automated tests including unit, integration, system, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability and performance
• Monitor and optimize system performance and ensure the availability of cloud resources

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, integrating and managing marketing automation workflows
• Knowledge of Aiven Kafka for event streaming and real-time data processing
• Familiarity with GCP services like Apigee for API management and Application Integration for seamless connectivity
• Experience with Locust for load testing and performance benchmarking of applications
