Senior Cloud Engineer

Summary

Join Rackspace Technology, a leading multicloud solutions provider, as a Cloud Engineer. You will be part of a team designing, automating, and deploying services on AWS, focusing on self-healing infrastructure. This role involves working with engineering teams on various projects, including large-scale migrations. You will utilize infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management. The position requires experience in cloud and software engineering, AWS infrastructure, service architecture, containerization, and scripting languages. The role is remote, but you must reside in Egypt.

Requirements

• Have 5 years of experience in Cloud and Software Engineering
• Possess a solid understanding of the overall AWS Cloud infrastructure (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Demonstrate experience with service architecture and containerization, such as Kubernetes
• Have experience with scripting languages like Python and/or Bash
• Be comfortable interacting with customers and have the ability to communicate and educate on Continuous Integration/Deployment: Git, Jenkins, etc

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering teams on a wide variety of projects such as large scale migrations
• Write infrastructure as code as (CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, containerization, etc. to develop the most successful methods for project completion
• Administer Linux/Windows systems, perform automated deployments, and write scripts (Bash/PowerShell/Python)

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and networking security
• Be knowledgeable of configuration management frameworks such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible
• Have experience working with Kubernetes package manager (helm, kustomize)
• Have experience with monitoring and logging systems for containerized applications (Prometheus, Grafana, fluentbit)
• Hold AWS Certifications
• Hold Kubernetes Certifications
