Summary
Join PlayOn as a Cloud Engineer to manage and enhance our AWS application infrastructure. You will collaborate with Product-Oriented Delivery teams to automate, secure, and optimize development and deployment workflows, ensuring reliable and efficient cloud solutions. This role requires strong AWS experience and DevOps expertise. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, container management, and system monitoring. Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud environments, including core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI
- Experience working with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as ECS or Kubernetes (EKS)
- Basic knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK stack)
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar to support automation tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Responsibilities
- Ensure AWS environments can handle peak traffic during football season, with auto-scaling and performance optimizations
- Continuously analyze and implement cloud cost-saving measures, including right-sizing and auto-scaling strategies
- Implement and maintain failover strategies to ensure 99.99 % uptime during critical sports events
- Work closely with development teams to foster a DevOps culture and document best practice
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for applications deployed on AWS
- Support the automation of infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
- Manage Docker containers and assist with container orchestration systems such as EKS and ECS
- Participate in improving system monitoring, alerting, and escalation mechanisms
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, availability, and cost-efficiency
- Help develop and maintain logging and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability
- Collaborate with Development and Product Teams to contribute to feature delivery from conception to implementation
- Contribute to the documentation of engineering standards and best practices across various areas
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application-related issues
