Summary

Join Keyfactor as the Director, Cloud Engineering and play a key role in the strategic development and execution of the technical roadmap, guiding a team of Cloud Engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring platform and product availability, optimizing performance, and enforcing security compliance. This role requires strong leadership, expertise in cloud architecture (specifically Microsoft Azure), and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The position is remote within the US (EST or CST, with hybrid options in Cleveland, OH or Atlanta, GA). Requirements

  • Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on developing skills and capabilities in cloud technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic leadership and visionary thinking in cloud computing
  • Demonstrate comprehensive expertise in cloud architecture, configuration, and deployment methodology within the Microsoft Azure platform. (10+ years)
  • Proven track record of implementing cloud strategies with hands-on experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automating cloud infrastructure
  • Effectively uses data to drive sound decision-making, capable of managing complex projects and leading teams under tight deadlines
  • Possesses a deep understanding of networking concepts, network protocols and firewalls
  • Possesses strong knowledge of compliance and security requirements related to SOC, ISO-27001, PCI, NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171
  • Experience utilizing DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and others to enhance agility of cloud infrastructure
  • Applicants must reside in the United States. US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of a comprehensive cloud design produced by Keyfactor Cloud Architecture, ensuring resilient, secure, and efficient cloud solutions
  • Develop platform engineering initiatives to design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure platforms that support Keyfactor operational and strategic objectives
  • Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration between operational teams, customer success, and product/engineering teams to deliver projects that align with strategic goals
  • Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources, focusing on performance, cost management, and security
  • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms for cloud health, performance, and costs, making recommendations for enhancements to executive leadership
  • Recruit and build a diverse, capable, and cohesive engineering team
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement, staying ahead of industry trends and evolving customer needs to recommend and implement changes in cloud technologies
  • Facilitate customer-facing technology and design discussions to support new business opportunities and support existing customer questions and concerns to incorporate feedback into strategy
  • Collaborate with the Keyfactor Compliance Team to provide technical evidence gathering for a range of compliance controls including SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171
  • Provide technical guidance to an on-call team offering 24 X 365 support for critical infrastructure
