Summary

Join PadSplit as a Cloud Platform Engineer and play a key role in scaling our cloud infrastructure. You will own our AWS environment, optimize PostgreSQL databases, and enhance our DevOps workflows. This hands-on position requires deep expertise in AWS, PostgreSQL, and Python/Django. You will design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure, optimize database performance, and build backend services. Success requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges. Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and IAM
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and schema design
  • Experience in Python and Django to help build scalable, secure applications
  • Experience automating deployments and managing infrastructure with tools like GitHub Actions or CircleCI
  • Familiarity with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, IAM policies, and encryption best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes for scalable systems
  • Ability to optimize queries, caching strategies, and system performance
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data teams
  • Comfortable making technical decisions, mentoring others, and driving improvements independently

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure
  • Manage AWS RDS (PostgreSQL) performance, indexing, and schema changes to ensure efficiency
  • Build and maintain backend services using Python and Django for platform stability
  • Implement and improve deployment pipelines (our repos are in BitBucket)
  • Enhance observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana
  • Strengthen IAM policies, data encryption, and VPC security best practices
  • Optimize application and query performance to improve speed and reliability
  • Work closely with engineering, data, and product teams to scale and refine the platform
