Key responsibilities include securing GCP environments, implementing security technologies, assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risks, and participating in incident response. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, and proven GCP security expertise. Remote/hybrid work options are available across multiple locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity
- Proven experience securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing tools
- Solid understanding of incident response methodologies and procedures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Experience with compliance requirements (CCPA, PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX)
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth expertise on securing Google Cloud environments (GCP), including designing and implementing security best practices for compute, storage, networking, and identity management
- Implement and maintain security controls and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR), vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions
- Assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks, specifically related to cloud environments, by implementing appropriate controls and technologies
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, CCPA, FISMA, SOX), with a particular focus on cloud compliance requirements
- Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices
- Effectively communicate security risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide security input and guidance on new system designs and deployments, ensuring security is integrated into the development lifecycle
- Assist in evaluating and selecting security solutions to meet the organization's needs, with a focus on cloud security tools
