Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience with COBOL development, including familiarity with mainframe environments
- Experience with legacy system support and modernization projects
- Strong understanding of business processes related to banking or finance domains
- Ability to extend, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within existing COBOL applications
- Ability to design, implement, test, support, and take ownership of new transactions and backend systems
- Willingness to learn Big Data reporting tools (e.g., Hadoop)
- Excellent knowledge of Source control with Git
Responsibilities
- Develop COBOL applications for mainframe environments
- Support and modernize legacy systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing COBOL applications
- Design, implement, test, support, and take ownership of new transactions and backend systems
- Extend existing COBOL applications
- Learn Big Data reporting tools (e.g., Hadoop)
- Use Git for source control
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Unisys OS2200 Transactions, Batch Processing, ECL, DMS/RDMS database systems
- Knowledge of other programming languages (Java, C#, and Python)
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other source control/issue tracking systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams
