Summary
Join the U.S. Forest Service as a Coldfusion Developer! This role focuses on operations and maintenance, agile development, and modernization of applications using custom and low-code approaches. You will provide support for a suite of applications, participate in a scrum team, and contribute to technical documentation. The position requires 3+ years of ColdFusion development experience, proficiency in various programming languages, and strong SQL knowledge. A Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or equivalent experience is needed. The role offers a remote work opportunity with a competitive salary range.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing with ColdFusion
- Experience with ColdFusion 2021
- Proficient in CFML, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and XML
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Experience with creating, maintaining, and debugging stored databased procedures, particularly in SQL Server
- Familiarity with WCAG and accessible design, coding, and content
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to proactively identify tasks, opportunities for improvement, and solutions without waiting for direct instructions
- 3+ years of development experience
- Bachelor of Science in IT, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or 7+ years of development experience in lieu of a degree)
Responsibilities
- Provide operations and maintenance support for a suite of applications, including tech stack lifecycle updates, security vulnerability remediation, minor updates and enhancements
- Provide support to federal development resources, assist with organizing and prioritizing work with product owners
- Find ways to improve maintainability and sustainability
- Participate in a scrum team to address backlog of production issues, bugs, and feature enhancement requests
- Recognize gaps, anticipate needs, and take action to address them without requiring step-by-step guidance
- Able to work with minimal supervision, take ownership of responsibilities, and drive tasks forward
- Support creation technical documentation (wiki) for maintenance of legacy applications
- Use Agency approved and specified GitHub repository to store source code, document code, release packages, and associated artifacts
- Write clean and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards
- Support new projects and tasks for software development projects as requested by the government
