Summary

The job is for a Geriatric or Cognitive Neurology Physician who will provide patient care, supervise APPs, collaborate with healthcare teams, and communicate effectively through virtual channels. The position requires an MD or DO degree, specific residency and fellowship programs, board certification, a valid medical license, proficiency in telemedicine, strong clinical skills, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Neurology with a subsequent fellowship in Behavioral/cognitive Neurology or Geriatrics
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, or Neurology
• Valid medical license to practice in state where supervision is required
• Proficiency in telemedicine platforms and technologies for conducting remote patient consultations
• Strong clinical skills in geriatric and cognitive assessment, management of complex medical conditions, and medication management
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with elderly patients, families, and healthcare colleagues through virtual channels

Responsibilities

• Offer direct patient-facing consultations as needed to address complex cases
• Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across different states
• Provide guidance and support to APPs in conducting virtual patient consultations
• Perform comprehensive cognitive assessments and manage complex medical conditions
• Oversee the prescription of medications and the ordering of diagnostic tests by APPs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care
• Ensure APPs stay up to date with advancements in geriatric medicine, telemedicine, and healthcare technology
• Maintain excellent communication with elderly patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues through virtual channels
