Summary
Join the American Marketing Association as a Collegiate Communities Intern for the Autumn of 2025! This 12-week, part-time internship (24 hours/week) runs from September 2nd to November 21st, 2025, and pays $18.00/hour. The role is fully remote, but requires residency in specific US states. You will revamp the AMA's Slack workspace, recruit judges for national competitions, develop new collegiate chapters, support grant applications, and assist with major events like Career Week and the International Collegiate Conference (ICC). This is a hands-on opportunity to build your resume and network with marketers nationwide. The internship offers valuable experience in marketing, event planning, and community building.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, communication, business, or a related field
- General understanding of marketing and event coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Experience with Slack, Google Workplace, and conducting online research
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to engage with students, professionals, and internal stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Slack Channel Optimization for Regional Collaboration: Reimagine and restructure the Collegiate Slack workspace to include state-specific channels to foster local engagement and regional collaboration among chapters as well as topic-focused groups, including student marketing agencies, sponsorship attainment, and more
- Judge Recruitment & Sponsorship Pipeline: Research and recruit 75β100 local professionals in the Chicago area to serve as potential judges for AMA competitions and funnel them to our Competition Judging Interest Form
- Chapter Development Outreach: Identify and connect with at least 10 student leaders from existing marketing or business clubs and conduct informational meetings to share the benefits and logistics of transitioning into an AMA collegiate chapter
- Fall Career Forum Grant Support: Review and evaluate Fall Career Forum grant applications
- Speaker Sourcing for Major Events: Research and compile a list of potential speakers for the International Collegiate Conference (ICC) and/or Career Week events
- Career Week Event Support: Assist in creating related event forms (e.g., registration, feedback, etc.) for Career Week activities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in student leadership, club development, or volunteer coordination
