Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree from a top U.S. law school or equivalent Degree level education
  • Admission to practice law in California, New York or other U.S. state where located
  • Have a proactive and flexible approach to work and be excited by a challenge!
  • A team player - the ability to work across departments and with various stakeholders

  • 5+ years of experience in contract law at a high growth SaaS or technology company
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, customer agreements, and redlining best practices
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts simultaneously
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations affecting SaaS agreements

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations and redlining of customer contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand client requirements and ensure agreements reflect those needs, within tight deadline
  • Draft, negotiate and respond to comments from customers and partners with respect to master services, data processing, reseller and evaluation agreements, RFPs and RFIs
  • Review and revise contractual language to protect the company's interests while maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal expertise on matters including debt collection, human resources, and corporate affairs
  • Provide legal guidance on contract terms, including pricing, payment terms, confidentiality clauses, and other legal considerations
  • Identify potential legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to contract law
