Requirements

  • Master's law degree or JD, Bar qualification required
  • Minimum 5 years PQE
  • Solid knowledge of contract law and copyright law, familiar with the software industry and cloud service industry. With rich experience in reviewing and revising cloud service agreements, SLA, SOW, DPA, etc
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act independently and reliably under time pressure and on multiple tasks, cooperative and team-oriented working style
  • Solid integrity and sense of responsibility, enthusiastic, proactive

Responsibilities

  • Work as the Regional Legal Counsel, providing daily legal support and advice to all BUs and functions of NA & EMEA Group of PingCAP, especially the Sales team
  • Draft, review and revise contracts, and other legal documents related to Cloud Service, including Cloud Service Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, Statements of Work, Master Service Agreements, etc
  • Assist the business with contract negotiations for the clients and business partners, as well as helping to win customer deals and trust in a professional and efficient manner
  • Provide legal advice to the line of business in a broad range of areas including Cloud Service, Technical Services, Data Security/Privacy Compliance, and employment law including anti-discrimination, FCPA, EAR, etc
  • Advise local management on business-related issues that have legal or compliance implications; conduct legal & compliance training in the line of business
  • Monitor new legislation and law enforcement, analyze the implications on PingCAP thereof and advise corresponding strategy and actions
  • Proactively identify risks and report and manage key risks
  • Other legal related projects/program based on company and local business needs and legislation update

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferably with prior experience in the cloud service/database/SaaS industry
  • Working experience in MNCs as in-house counsel is an advantage
